FCMS provides high quality cardiology services to patients closer to home, in the community.
What We Provide
We offer cardiac services aimed at diagnosing and monitoring various heart conditions. These include:
Echocardiography
We provide over 22,000 cardiology appointments per year. All clinics are directly bookable through E-RS, with capacity reviewed on a daily basis to ensure we are meeting demand and responding accordingly. We are currently covering the following areas: Manchester, Bury, Heywood Middleton & Rochdale, West Lancs, Leicestershire and South Warwickshire.
Our Diagnostics service is a BSE accredited department and only employ BSE or EACVI accredited echocardiographers. We offer consultant led reporting, where consultants review all reports with abnormal findings. Dependent on referral information provided, the consultant can provide guidance to the referring GP in relation to medication. This stops around 25% of patients being referred into secondary care. We are supporting the NHS with insourcing.
ECG
Our team has been delivering high quality Community Direct Access ECG and BP services for more than 10 years. We currently offer a 7-day service currently covering the following areas: Blackpool, Oldham, Middleton, West Lancashire including Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.
Reports for both ECHO and ECG offer comprehensive clinical advice to the referrer resulting in fewer referrals into secondary care and improved management in Primary Care. We are also supporting the NHS with outsourcing.
Remote Monitoring Services
We are able to provide remote monitoring services via our telehealth hub as part of multi-disciplinary teams involving secondary care, for patients awaiting cardiac surgery. This reduces the need for admission to hospital for assessment whilst also alleviating pressure on both GP and community services.
Tier 2 Cardiology
This is a service where GP’s can refer to a cardiologist. The cardiologist reviews the referral and orders any necessary diagnostics. The patient is then reviewed with the results of the diagnostics and either discharged or referred onto secondary care.
Bespoke Inhouse Health Screening
We are able to offer tailored health screening packages. Please contact us for further details.
Our Diagnostics services are proud to be ISO 9001 accredited
Our PACS system CIMAR allows remote access to users across the network to reduce the need to repeat diagnostics in secondary care. This is accessible 24/7 and at no cost to the secondary care providers. CIMAR has a connection to the Image Exchange Portal (IEP) which allows us to share echocardiograms into the secondary care on request.
FCMS is a listed provider on the Community Diagnostic Hub Framework, the Increasing Capacity Framework and Digital Mutual Aid System (DMAS).
