Doncaster Wound Care Team Shortlisted for ‘Team of the Year’ Award

Our amazing Wound Care team in Doncaster have been shortlisted for ‘Team of the Year‘ at the Nursing Times Awards!

Partners across Doncaster Place have created and successfully embedded a consistent model of care for all Doncaster patients requiring wound care known as the Doncaster Wound Care Alliance. The key partners in this ongoing alliance are:

  1. Primary Care Doncaster
  2. Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust
  3. Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  4. South Yorkshire ICB
  5. FCMS

The Doncaster Wound Care Alliance has been shortlisted for their partnership working to deliver a wound care service that tackles health inequalities by providing accessible care in the right place at the right time for patients.

As part of this integrated model for wound care, there is a consistent and cohesive educational programme and a Doncaster wide wound care formulary.

This means all patients, regardless of where in Doncaster they access care, receive the same standard of care, using the same products, provided by staff with the same level of training and knowledge.

The Doncaster Wound Care Alliance has also previously been named runner-up (gaining high commendation) for the Health Service Journal’s (HSJ) Integrated Care Initiative of the Year Award 2023.

The Wound Care Alliance is proof of the impact of partnership and multidisciplinary working to deliver consistent high quality patient care.

Good luck to the team at the awards ceremony in London on 22nd October!
