Diagnostics Achieve ISO 9001 Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that following a three day audit the Diagnostics service is now ISO 9001 accredited.

A big well done to Chris and the whole Diagnostics team for adapting to ISO, implementing all of the processes and collecting all of the evidence we needed to secure accreditation.

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is a measurable standard for quality management systems. The standard provides a framework which applicants are then assessed against to make sure they are able to maximise quality for service users.

The Diagnostics team have been reviewed by a UKAS accredited assessor over a two stage process. There will be shorter reviews each year, with full audits every 3 years going forward.

What are the benefits?

The main goal of ISO 9001 is to maintain effective processes, supported by the right level of resource, to deliver a high-quality service on a repeatable basis. The ISO 9001 audit takes a deep dive into the processes and procedures that underpin service delivery. Ensuring these quality mechanisms are in place therefore helps to improve and maintain quality across all of our Diagnostic services.

ISO accreditation is increasingly asked for by commissioners as a mark of quality in things like tenders for new services. It is an internationally understood mark of quality and immediately highlights to commissioners and partners that the team have all of the robust processes in place to deliver a high-quality and continually improving service.
