Providing high-quality dental care has long been at the core of what we do at FCMS, and we have done so for over two decades

  Having started in a single location, we’ve expanded to delivering Emergency Out of Hours Dental Services 365 days a year, to more than 10,000 patients across the Fylde Coast, Morecambe Bay, Blackburn and Burnley

Our dental services have also grown to include domiciliary dental care, together with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Dental Helpline. Every year our dental services manage up to:

FCMS manages the Dental Helpline for Lancashire and South Cumbria. Find out more below.


The helpline first opened for Lancashire in 2017, and since April 2022 has been extended to include South Cumbria.  It is a single access contact number for all local patients requiring dental care

Our fantastic team is made up of skilled clinical and non-clinical staff, with a dental nurse always on shift to provide support and make clinical decisions

Managing up to 180,000 calls per year, we can refer into numerous clinics across Lancashire and South Cumbria

We support both registered and non-registered patients with their dental issues, and also maintain an up-to-date list of all NHS Dentists in Lancashire and South Cumbria for patients that are looking for support with registering

Emergency Dental
(Out of Hours)

FCMS Emergency Dental Services provides evening, weekend, and bank holiday emergency dental access for registered and non-registered patients 365 days a year

Patients can access the service via the Lancashire and South Cumbria dental helpline or through referral from other healthcare professionals

We provide assistance to Emergency dental patients in our Out of Hours service with severe pain, swelling and/or dental traumas

Our services are currently provided in Morecambe Bay, Fylde Coast, Blackburn and Burnley


The FCMS Domiciliary Dental provision has evolved over the years, and is a valuable service for patients who cannot access NHS dental care in a typical surgery setting

Our specialised team go out into the community providing essential care to patients either in their own home or in a residential care facility

This service is for a specific cohort of patients, so to ensure those patients most in need are seen quickly and effectively, we need to apply certain eligibility criteria

We provide a number of treatment options such as dentures and undertake referrals to more appropriate services for specialist dentistry
