Diagnostic services
we provide...

Echocardiography

We provide over 15,000 cardiology appointments per year.  Accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography since 2014, we deliver a high-quality service for patients and commissioners

All clinics are directly bookable through E-RS, with capacity reviewed on a daily basis to ensure we are meeting demand and responding accordingly

Access to our secure online reporting and image archiving system is available to both primary and secondary care. We work closely with secondary care colleagues to ensure our clinical advice is comprehensive, easily accessible and reduces the likelihood of unnecessary repeat tests

Non-Obstetric Ultrasound

We have been delivering high quality Non-Obstetric Ultrasound services for over 10 years

We only employ accredited Sonographers with at least 5 years of NHS experience

All clinics are directly bookable through E-RS, this is managed on a daily basis to ensure we are meeting capacity and demand efficiently

Reports are promptly and securely sent back to the referring GP as the scan is performed. We have a clear pathway for urgent reports with a 4-hour turnaround time

ECG & BP

Our team has been delivering high quality Community Direct Access ECG and BP services for more than 10 years

We currently offer a 7-day service currently covering the following areas: Blackpool, West Lancashire including Ormskirk and Skelmersdale

Reports for both ECHO and ECG offer comprehensive clinical advice to the referrer resulting in fewer referrals into secondary care and improved management in Primary Care

Spirometry & FeNO

We have a team of highly experienced respiratory nurses who can undertake COPD & Asthma reviews including performing and interpreting Spirometry and FeNO results

We currently offer 7 day a week service either in a venue of your choice or utilising our mobile unit covering all areas within the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint

We have a fully managed service from booking patient in to ensuring practices receive all information post appointment

Community Outreach Services

FCMS provides NHS Health Checks across Lancashire on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

We also offer ‘mini health checks’ which involves a blood pressure test and lifestyle conversation with a member of the team.

We have a standalone website dedicated to this service, visit to find out more: www.nhshealthcheckslancashire.co.uk

FCMS provides mini health checks service to workplaces in Blackpool as part of a new government scheme.

The checks can help to detect people at high risk of cardiovascular disease, including;

  • Heart attack
  • Heart disease
  • Stroke

The service is delivered free of charge, can be done in your workplace venue and takes around 15 minutes to complete for each person.

If you’d like the team to visit your workplace, please email [email protected]

We have provided vaccination services since 2020. Whether at fixed sites or through our repurposed single-decker health bus, we provide an easy and accessible way for patients to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
