We’re delighted to be supporting a targeted community outreach spirometry service in Blackpool.
Partnership working
This service has been co-designed by Healthwatch and other local health and care partners, including population health colleagues. It is intended to respond to collective insights and understanding on the experiences and needs of people living in Blackpool’s most disadvantaged areas.
Ease of access
Appointments are delivered from one of our mobile clinics, which is a repurposed single decker bus.
This allows us to take the service out into the community and tailor delivery to a local area that may experience health inequalities and barriers to access.
Making every contact count
As well as spirometry testing, clinics also include a range of other services, including community health teams, engagement teams, plus health and wellbeing coaches.
This collaborative approach allows us to maximise our impact and deliver holistic interventions to residents.

What is a Spirometry Test?
A spirometry test measures your breathing and how well your lungs are working. It helps to diagnose conditions such as asthma and COPD, and to support people to better manage their respiratory health.
