Our Social Purpose
FCMS is fully committed to reinvesting into staff development and wellbeing, as well as improving patient care and supporting the communities in which we work and live
Our Why?
To nurture an environment of inspiration, innovation and disruption so that the people within our world receive exceptional care for this generation and the next
Our People
We know that exceptional patient care starts with the health and wellbeing of our own people
We are always looking at how best we can support our colleagues and we take pride in helping people in whatever way we can
FCMS has made dreams come true with our Staff Wishes scheme where we provided funding for projects from housing renovations to recording equipment for a new podcast, musical instruments, once in a lifetime trips and more
We provide life/professional coaching, financial wellbeing sessions, access to credit unions, regular wellbeing communications/events, mental health and wellbeing workshops, social activity groups and team building sessions
All staff have access to our rewards platform which in addition to a huge range of discounts, includes an employee assistance programme and provides lots of useful information, support and resources around physical and mental wellbeing
We love to develop our own people, giving them new opportunities to grow with the company
Our Communities
Whether it’s a service that’s targeted at vulnerable groups or a new ways of delivering remote monitoring of patients; all of our services are designed to deliver maximum benefit for the local community
FCMS is a social enterprise – we emotionally and financially invest in local communities and community projects
The most successful and meaningful partnerships between ourselves and local communities are built on shared cultures and values. We have supported the Boathouse Youth for a number of years, and since 2021 staff across FCMS have had the opportunity to help out at their annual summer camp
In 2023 we supported with funding for a youth centre in Morecambe Bay and provided funding to open up a new Community Cafe – ‘STRIVE’ – at Flakefleet Primary School in Fleetwood.
After consultation with local voluntary/charity leaders, FCMS has developed a longer-term plan for how we will re-invest and support our communities
Our priorities going forward are to support charities with continued and recurrent investment that operate in our local areas and focus on:
- First 1000 days
- Youth Mental Wellness
- Environmental considerations
None of our support comes with caveats or strings attached. We trust the experts and work with partners we know deliver meaningful change
