    FCMS Dental started delivering dental services from a single surgery in the year 2000. From that point on we have continued to expand the range of services we offer and now deliver NHS services to more than 45,000 patients per year across the Fylde Coast, Blackpool and North Lancashire.

    We are a multidisciplinary team, comprised of Dentists, Dental Nurses, experienced Operational Managers, and highly skilled Call Handlers. This mix allows us to provide services with all elements of the patient journey in mind, ensuring our service delivery is as seamless as possible for patients, whilst maintaining robust clinical governance measures.

    FCMS Dental provides services all year round and has an enthusiastic, dedicated team working hard to deliver the best possible services to our patients.

  • Unscheduled Dental Care

    Evenings and weekends

    FCMS Dental are responsible for all evening and weekend emergency access for registered and non-registered patients 365 days a year. Our call handlers and receptionists prioritise patients with severe symptoms, providing access to emergency dental appointments.

    • Saturday – 08:30 – 15:00
    • Sunday – 08:30 – 15:00

    • Monday to Friday – 17:30-21:00
    • Saturday – 11:00-18:00
    • Sunday – 10:00-15:00

    Daytime

    FCMS Dental also manages the call handling for the daytime service. Our call handlers provide the appointment booking element of the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals service. The daytime service is only available for patients who are taking pain relief and are without a registered dentist. If a patient is visiting our local area (e.g. on holiday) then we can treat them as an unregistered patient.

    As a part of the call handling for the daytime service we make courtesy calls for the Community Dental Service; we also book children in to see the paediatric dentist where appropriate.

    The phone lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 in Morecambe, and 09:00-17:00 in Blackpool.

    Waiting List/Allocation

    FCMS Dental manages the database of patients who are wishing to access NHS Dentistry and oversee the allocation of patients to an NHS practice. Patients without a dentist contact us to add their names to the waiting list. We allocate patients to a practice within their locality.

    Domiciliary

    We  provide a Domiciliary Service to patients who cannot access NHS dental care in a surgery setting. Our bespoke team go out into the community providing essential care to patients either in their own home or in a residential care facility. Due to the limitations of treating patients at residential addresses, patients are sometimes referred to the hospital for more in depth treatment.

    Denture Care

    We have links with King Street Dental Practice in Blackpool. If patients are in need of dentures we can refer them to King Street for further treatment.
