Dental Services Lead
FCMS started delivering dental services from a single surgery in the year 2000. Since then we have expanded and are now providing Emergency Dental Services (Out of Hours) 365 days a year, to more than 10,000 patients across the Fylde Coast, Blackpool and Morecambe Bay.
FCMS Domiciliary Dental service has evolved over the years and we are now providing over a service to around 300 vulnerable patients per year. This is a valuable service for patients who are unable to get out to see a dentist, or require discharge from hospital. We are able to visit the patient in the comfort of their own home/rest home and provide reassurance, or assist a transfer out of hospital delayed by dental needs. We can only offer limited treatment options, i.e. dentures and undertake referrals to more appropriate services for as specialist dentistry.
We are a multidisciplinary team, comprised of Dentists, Dental Nurses, Receptionists and experienced leaders and managers. FCMS also operate the Lancashire Dental Helpline service, this allows us to provide a fantastic, consistent, pathway for the patient journey ensuring our service delivery is as seamless as possible for patients, whilst maintaining robust clinical governance measures.
